I think your way of coloring is wrong cause you don't see the whole picture from the beginning.Try to put basic color spots at the beginning to build the color scheme you like or make your self small color sketch - this way you will know for sure that all your efforts are not in vane.
This one look very successful though ^_^ I like her face.The main problem for me is her weapon - I think it looks odd and lacks details..
This painting reminds of "terror planet" of Tarantino
You can add some purple at her skin,imo
